Smarter Cheaper Faster

Hi Guys,

Scott here from Melbourne UAV :)
Just wanted to say a big thanks to Dean (and Chris) for all the help and hours on the phone they gave us in the lead up to the 2009 Outback Challenge.
If anyone it thinking of buying an Atto, DO IT! It is an awesome piece of gear!

During our scrutineering flight at the Outback Challenge, the judges made lots of comments on how well our 12 foot telemaster tracked around the course during our demonstration flight. It was a thing of beauty watching it crab along one leg at around 40 degrees while sticking right on course.

Our biggest problem was us thinking that that it would not be that windy up there and we could get away with using a telemaster. After a few windy test flights back in Melbourne we realised our error and then prayed for a low wind day in Kingaroy. :(

Atto almost did the physically impossible by keeping our Telemaster level and on course in the high winds. I was a big gust in the end that tipped it sideways, and after loosing comms for a few seconds our failsafe system initiated, which worked perfectly and totally destroyed our UAV in around 10 Seconds.

We learnt a hell of a lot from this years challenge and will be back next year with a totally new airframe and ATTO of course!

Thanks Guys!

Well done to you all it was very exciting following it all, we should try harder to get a live link next year. Hopefully you guys are cutting together more of your excellent video to make a fantastic documentary, warts and all ;-)

Top job.

Hi Gary,
There is another video banging around the place, It was some of the bits that didn't make it into the documentary.
I'll bang it on You Tube and post a link on the videos page.
Counting down already for next year!
