Is AttoPilot Still a Live Product?

I too must ask the question, as there has been no updates on ANY websites regarding AttoPilot.

Is AttoPilot still a live and viable product?

I have 3 V2 boards that have never worked and really need to know 'do I persevere with them or cut my losses?'

It has been a very rewarding experience growing into UAVs with AttoPilot, but this sudden silence is a bit disconcerting.

Hope to hear some positive response as the Atto deserves…

Status of AttoPilot

Gary,

What is the current status of AttoPilot?

I have seen no updates to the attopilotinternational.com, any entries on RCGroups, or new remarks here.

What's up?

Next months budget (allowance from my wife) becomes available on the first.

This month I will be buying a UAV airframe to fly with my new ATTO and to play with some of the ideas I have had for years.

Hopefully you guys may have some ideas for me.

I want to experiment with some digital sensor & communications packages and some long range survailance out in the desert.

People trying to cross our…

The Devil Ray

Hi Guys!

If you have not seen this yet check it out!

It is the Devil Ray 2.4M flying wing  made by Chris McNair.

We asked him to make one for us to use in the Australian Outback UAV Challenge. And before you ask we have an ATTO IMU onboard!

The Devil Ray has the option…

Viking uAV using Atto v2.0

Hi everyone,

I just started integarting the ATTO v2.0 in my NSP Viking airframe. The Viking has been a fully functional UAV using the Picopilot and it has been a great testbed since it flies very well, is strong yet lightly built and has a reasonable size at 55 in wingspan weighing around 40 oz AUW.

This is the equipment I intend to use;

-          MEGA 1625/4 motor with 9x6 APC prop – 250-300W and 3S Hyperion 3AH pack

-          Schulze…

Atto Upgrade???

Hello,

I was one of the original beta testers back when Dean started his quest to build a low-cost autopilot.  I received version 1.7 and 1.8 (see below).  I do have the original co-pilot head as well.  I read another post here where it spoke about an upgrade offer for version 2.0.  Is this offer still available?  If so, how much is the upgrade and what does it come with?  Do I use any of the 1.8 parts with 2.0?  Of course I'd rather have the 3.0 but I'm not sure if the…

autonomous Ornithopter

Hi,

We, Aerospace Dept, developed the world's lightest weight ornithopter capable of flapping and glidding. see link below

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWf-rBL3OxA

We are aiming to make it autonomous.

We want to use your autoopilot in our ornithopter,

It probably will need a bit of programming to handle gliding, I would expect the…

AttoPilot newbie questions

Hello,

I have been looking for a small area photogrammetric mapping solution for months now and while surfing the net i came across AttoPilot.

I'm familiar with RC planes but not with automated flying. I would like to experiment with home build airframes and lightweight camera's. I have some questions:

How does the camera triggering work ?

Do you use a servo are is it possible for AttoPilot to trigger certain camera's connected to the AP…

Major set back.

Well things were going well and the Maxi Swift tests were coming along fine. I even had some high altitude pictures for the blog. We don't do FPV but we were setting the system up to run a wireless on the end of one wing and a HD camera on the other wing. We had an OSD connected to the wireless to see what we were doing and let Atto fly the Maxi. The flight went well but after landing and upon looking at the HD camera video it was just a whole bunch of noise. I tried a video on the ground…

A Very Happy Camper...

Well even though I'm still working with an older 1.8V Atto we decided to do a maiden on our new MAXI SWIFT, (pictures to come). we just did a very basic setup with just the regular RC electronics and the Atto, nothing else was added as all we wanted to see was how well it flew.

Set up

2 4000mah 3S lipos

1 40 amp plush BESC

1 .15 1300kva motor

1 9/6 prop

1 2.4ghz 9ch Hi tech receiver.

2 HS 83 mg servos

1 V1.8…

If you don't succeed at first try, try, and try again.

I started this project in 2003 with the "great idea" of getting a O powered High Powered Rocket above 46,000 feet. O powered is 40960N total impulse and 46,000 feet is the record for an O powered flight. the O powered motor is the maximum allowed in Canada as a HP rocket.

My Group and I designed and built and peroxide motor which puts out a little more than 450 lbs of thrust, about 2100N. We are able to throttle the motor between full thrust and quarter thrust…

Very successful maiden flight of a new project, Prawn Cracker, the reason for the name has to be explained in person with a beer in hand.

Well done Adrian!!

Although not using an AttoPilot at work right now, Adrian who is a member here does use one in the UK for other things.

He is currently one of the Qinetiq pilots that has just broken the 7 day mark with the Zephyr solar airframe. It took off last Friday from Yuma and is set to fly for another week I believe.

Wallace would be proud!! Its Nigels launch-o-matic for the Manta wing.

I know Nigel has a bigger AXI motor and fairly heavy camera on board so its needs a shove to get going. I did'nt quite realise how it worked. Maybe he will give us more of a…
