Losing a control surface in flight
7 Replies

My foam wing has laminated foam elevons with control horns CA'd on.  Had just turned to look at the laptop today and my plane was in a spiral dive.  Took manual and had control authority one way. …Continue

Understanding Atto Telemetry Downlink

I have line $110 set to 2. This is supposed to mean 2 second delay between Atto messages. I've been going through the donwnlink data to work on a custom GCS for my school project, and am not sure how to handle time. I get a time update with each $GPGGA string, and often get 2-3 $ATTO strings between each $GPGGA string. How do I know how much time has passed between $ATTO strings? The reason I need to know is so that my GCS can study rates of change of several $ATTO parameters. Attached is a…See More

Learning about Communication through Practice and your help, Ning

I have been trying to get my xBee XSC 900 mhz working well with my GCS for a while now. I seem to lose about 50% of my incoming messages (bad checksum). Does anyone here have any experience with this? Is anyone using the GCS to adjust gains in flight? I could really use the help. More specific info to come including graphs, data streams, etc... for all who are interested! Thanks in advance!
