Ground Control Station

Will the new ground station be backward compatible with 1.8??

Ok thanks Chris, it would certainly be on my wish list. That way one could cut ones teeth with a 1.8 and the new GCS and when the leap upto IMU is made it would be less painful. Perhaps a cut down feature version that looks and acts the same?? Less learning.

If it was not tied to a single computer it would also be good, I can see a point where operating in the bush my laptop might go down and being able to put it on a different machine would be flipping handy.

Oh any idea how much the GCS will cost??

cost? I figured it was included? or at least for 1.8 it should be included... I was not told otherwise.. also I was told that the GCS does work with 1.8......

It is included......isnt it?
This is on in the data sheet for the 1.8.

• Upload new waypoint lists during flight
• Point and click waypoints during flight from ground control software

An unofficial and wholly unauthorized Attopilot-compatible GCS. Free (well, initially) and open source. Download from here:

- Standard pilots "T" instrument layout.
- Standard aviation units (feet, knots, nautical miles).
- Integrates with Google Earth to provide realtime UAV tracking.
- Generates time-stamped KML files from live telemetry or log files (or parts thereof).
- Smooth precision graphics with simulated instrument needle momentum to reduce operator fatigue.
- High-contrast colours for outdoor use.
- Adjustable font sizes, zoomable display.
- Supports Failsafe PTZ intrinsically (but does not require it), and monitors telemetry loop integrity.

Coming soon:
- Speech synthesis - watch your UAV instead of the screen.
- Choice of metric units.
